Gadget Trade Return & Refund Policy
Clear guidance for buyers and sellers when a gadget is defective, damaged, incorrect, or not as represented.
Before returning an item
Contact support and wait for written return instructions.
A fair, evidence-based review
Return decisions consider the listing, agreed transaction terms, item condition, supporting evidence, seller response, platform records, and applicable law.
Return Eligibility
An item may be eligible for return when a return right was included in the listing or transaction terms, the seller agrees to a return, or the item is defective, damaged, incorrect, or materially different from its description. Buyers must keep the item, included accessories, packaging, and proof of purchase in substantially the same condition while a request is reviewed.
Defective or Damaged Items
If an item arrives damaged or has a defect that was not clearly disclosed before purchase, stop using it where continued use could cause further damage or create a safety risk. Photograph or record the item, packaging, serial or model details, and the defect, then contact support promptly. Gadget Trade may ask for additional evidence or arrange an inspection.
Incorrect or Misrepresented Items
A buyer may request review when the item received is the wrong product or materially differs from the listing in model, storage, condition, functionality, authenticity, included accessories, or another important detail. Minor cosmetic differences that were disclosed or reasonably visible in the listing may not qualify.
Return Window
The return window and any seller-specific conditions shown on the listing, order, receipt, or transaction agreement apply. If no return window was stated, contact Gadget Trade support as soon as the issue is discovered so the circumstances can be reviewed.
How to Request a Return
Contact Gadget Trade support and provide your name, order or transaction reference, listing link, reason for the request, date the issue was discovered, and clear photos or video where relevant. Do not send an item back until return instructions and the return destination have been confirmed in writing.
Return Shipping Responsibility
Return delivery costs are assessed based on the reason for the return and the transaction terms. A seller may be responsible when an item is confirmed defective, damaged before delivery, incorrect, or materially misrepresented. A buyer may be responsible for an approved preference-based return or where the listing terms place return delivery on the buyer. Support will confirm responsibility before shipment.
Inspection of Returned Items
Returned items may be inspected to verify identity, condition, accessories, security locks, serial or IMEI details, and the reported issue. Refund or exchange approval may be reduced or declined if the item has been altered, damaged after delivery, used beyond reasonable inspection, stripped of parts, locked to an account, or returned incomplete.
Refund Process and Timing
After a return is approved and the item passes inspection, Gadget Trade or the seller will confirm the refund method and expected processing timeline. Bank, card, payment-provider, or marketplace processing times may apply after a refund is issued.
Exchange Options
An exchange may be offered when the seller has a suitable replacement and both parties agree. Availability is not guaranteed. If no replacement is available, an approved return may proceed to a refund or another resolution confirmed by Gadget Trade support.
Items That Cannot Be Returned
Unless defective, damaged, incorrect, misrepresented, or otherwise required by applicable law, returns may be declined for items sold as final sale or as-is with disclosed faults; items damaged through misuse, unauthorized repair, liquid exposure, or accidental damage after delivery; items with removed or altered serial numbers; items still linked to a personal account or activation lock; incomplete returns; and items submitted outside the applicable transaction terms.
Marketplace and Seller Conditions
Gadget Trade is a marketplace where transaction terms may differ by seller, listing, delivery method, payment flow, or agreed swap arrangement. Seller-specific conditions must be clearly disclosed and cannot excuse fraud or material misrepresentation. Where a transaction takes place directly between users, Gadget Trade may facilitate communication and review available evidence but cannot guarantee a particular outcome beyond the platform’s role and applicable law.
